What people ask us about first
- My skin texture is uneven and I have marks left from old spots.
- I have patches of pigmentation and I do not know what will help.
- My skin looks dull and tired, and facials alone are not doing enough.
- My skin looks less firm along the jaw than it used to.
- I want someone to look at my skin properly and tell me honestly what is worth doing.
What you can expect
- We look at your skin and talk you through which treatment we think is the right place to start.
- A clear explanation of what happens, the aftercare and what to expect, before anything is done.
- Changes that build gradually. Many skin treatments work best as a course, and results vary from person to person.
- Some redness after microneedling, RF or a peel is normal; dermaplaning and microcurrent usually leave little to see.
- A price for every skin treatment on this page, so you know the cost of each session before you book.

Good to know
- These are cosmetic skin treatments in a beauty salon, not medical care. For a skin condition that needs diagnosing, see your GP or a dermatologist first.
- After microneedling, expect redness for a day or two, a bit like mild sunburn, with some tightness or dryness.
- After a peel, skin can feel tight and may flake or peel for several days. We will tell you what to expect for the peel you are having.
- Microneedling and peels are usually not done during pregnancy, over active acne, cold sores, broken skin or sunburn, or while taking some acne medicines. Tell us about any medication.
- Wear a high-factor sunscreen every day while you are having a course of skin treatments.

What we use
- RégimA
Aftercare
We give you aftercare for the treatment you have had. In general, for the first day or two after microneedling, RF or a peel: keep make-up off if you can, skip saunas, steam, swimming and the gym, do not pick or scrub any flaking skin, avoid retinol and acids until your skin has settled, and wear a high-factor sunscreen. If anything worries you, call the salon.
Microneedling and RF microneedling
Microneedling uses a pen with very fine needles to make tiny channels in the top of the skin. People book it for uneven texture, marks left from old spots, enlarged pores and fine lines. We offer three versions:
- Microneedling: the treatment on its own.
- Microneedling with RF: microneedling combined with radiofrequency, which gently heats the deeper layers of the skin.
- Microneedling with exosomes and RF: microneedling and RF, with an exosome serum applied to the skin. Ask us which product we use and why.
Your skin will be red for a day or two afterwards. Changes build over weeks rather than overnight, and results vary from person to person. BB Glow, also on our menu, uses a microneedling pen to apply a tinted serum; ask us whether it suits your skin.

RF skin tightening
Radiofrequency skin tightening uses a handheld device to gently warm the deeper layers of the skin, with no needles. It takes about 40 minutes, feels warm rather than sore, and you can usually carry on with your day afterwards. People choose it when skin looks less firm along the jaw, neck or around the eyes.
Chemical peels with RégimA
Our skin peel uses RégimA, a professional skin care range. A peel removes the top layer of dead skin cells, so expect tightness and some flaking for several days afterwards. We will tell you what to expect for your skin, and what to use at home while it settles.

Dermaplaning, microcurrent and microdermabrasion
These three have little or no downtime. Dermaplaning takes off dead skin and fine facial hair with a sterile blade. Microcurrent uses a low electrical current to work the face’s muscles. Crystal clear microdermabrasion exfoliates the surface of the skin, in 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions.
If you want a gentler treatment for your skin, see our facials. All of our skin treatment prices are also on the full price list.
Common questions
Is there a skin clinic in Ilford that does microneedling?
NBA Clinic, at 92 High Street, Barkingside, Ilford, does microneedling, microneedling with RF, RF skin tightening, RégimA peels, dermaplaning, microcurrent and microdermabrasion. We are a beauty salon with treatment rooms, not a medical clinic, so if you have a skin condition that needs a diagnosis, see your GP first.
How much does microneedling cost?
Microneedling prices are listed on this page and on our price list, alongside every other skin treatment. What moves the price is the type: plain microneedling, microneedling with RF, or microneedling with exosomes and RF. The prices shown are for a single session. If we think a course would suit your skin, we will say so and you can decide how many to book.
What is RF microneedling?
RF microneedling combines microneedling, where very fine needles make tiny channels in the skin, with radiofrequency, which gently heats the deeper layers. People choose it for texture, fine lines and skin that looks less firm. We will explain how the two are combined on your skin, what it feels like and what the days afterwards look like before we start.
Does microneedling hurt?
Most people describe microneedling as prickly rather than painful, and bonier areas such as the forehead feel it more than the cheeks. A session takes about 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the type. Tell us if you are uncomfortable at any point, and ask beforehand what to expect so nothing comes as a surprise.
Is there downtime after microneedling or a chemical peel?
There is some downtime after both. After microneedling, the skin is usually red for a day or two, like mild sunburn. After a peel, it can feel tight and may flake for several days. Most people carry on with normal life, but plan around events. Skip make-up, saunas and the gym for a day or two, and wear sunscreen every day.
What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade to gently remove dead skin cells and the fine, soft facial hair often called peach fuzz. It takes about 40 minutes, leaves the skin feeling smooth to the touch, and usually has little or no downtime. The fine hair grows back the same as before; dermaplaning does not make it thicker or darker.
Can you treat pigmentation?
Pigmentation has different causes, and some types respond better than others. We can look at your skin and talk you through whether a peel or microneedling is worth trying, alongside daily sunscreen, which any pigmentation plan depends on. A mark that is new, changing or bleeding, or patchy pigmentation linked to pregnancy or hormones, should be seen by a doctor first.
What is microcurrent skin lifting?
Microcurrent uses a very low electrical current, passed through the skin with handheld probes, to work the muscles of the face. Most people feel little more than a light tingle, and there is no downtime. It is booked in 30 or 40 minute sessions, and we will tell you whether it suits what you want to change.
